Pros and cons of Recipe Keeper app for iPhone and iPad

Recipe Keeper app good for

I really like this app. I have it on my iPhone and iPad, and I made my husband load it on his Samsung, so we can share recipes. The "synch" across devices is sometimes buggy, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. Also, each time you are asked to Upgrade, the app says youre going to get charged. Its only AFTER you agree to proceed with the charge that the app recognizes you already paid (and tells you that you wont be charged). So you basically need to take a leap of faith that you wont be charged each time you upgrade. Other than that, its great: it sorts meals in a great way, and lets you endlessly customize categories. Really like it. I just moved everything over from the Basil app. Totally worth it. Basil had a much nicer layout, it but didnt let me organize or group anything. Bye-bye Basil!

I subscribe to some recipe sites but needed an easy way to keep it in one place. Easy to import and usually includes picture. Easy to find stuff, put into menu and send to shopping list.

Best app so far that Ive seen for recipes. Cross device sync works great. Would like to see nutrition info, shopping lists and menus.

I very rarely bother with reviews and Im usually hostile towards anything with "in app purchases". This is the exception. I love this app and use it a lease several times a week. Great job!

Recipe Keeper is a genius! It saves me so much collecting online recipes. It enables me to create me own virtual cookbook. I love it!

Love the way that you can import recipes directly from the web. Easy to see the instructions when Im cooking

Some bad moments

The app is not formatted for iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. With the second generation of the 6 line (2 years) coming to a close, they really should have updated the app to support it. $6.99 for the pro upgrade makes the app expensive but lagging behind modern updated apps which retail for $.99

Great tool when it works. Has issues downloading from Internet and wont let me sync on multiple devices through family share without buying it multiple times. Good idea but no follow through.

Use it all the time for all my recipes. Great import feature too. Thank you!

Is fantastic app. Would be even better if in a future update, it could calculate ingredient measurement with serving size changes.

I did have to purchase it twice once for my phone and again for my windows tablet, but they sync and work well together

Been using this app for a while now and I really like it. Took a bit to get friendly with it but its become a favorite of mine. It gets 4 stars because it doesnt import all recipes including some that are layed out well enough that it should ~ but its easy enough to copy/paste the recipe into it. The ones it does import, its very seamless, just might take a few minutes for it to happen. Not sure if the app is importing more recipes as its improved or if Ive just learned a few shortcuts to make it easier. Over all this is a very good app, keeps recipes very convenient. I especially like that I can take my iPad into the store and pull up any recipe and see the ingredients I need to get or copy/paste the ingredients into notes and it will sync on my phone.
